Premium Plus Service

Lock-in

It consists of a metal deposit that applies a lock-in
preventing the sale of the gold held in the deposit for a fixed period of time.

Lock-in duration

24-month lock-up period.
In other words, you will not be able to sell the gold held in your
PREMIUM PLUS deposit plan for 24 months from the moment you open that plan.

Lock-in release

When the lock-up period expires (that is, 24 hours after the
restriction ends), the deposit plan is released, allowing the account
holder to sell all or part of the gold held or to request that
the gold be delivered to their home.

The deposit

Opening the deposit

The deposit is opened and activated only once the identification of the ultimate beneficial owner and the verification of the origin of the funds
for the gold purchase have been completed.

Place of deposit

The Metal Bank may store gold directly on its own premises or, at its discretion, use authorised and supervised third-party companies specialising in the storage of precious metals in high-security vaults. It may likewise, at its discretion, use the same LBMA refineries from which it sources the gold.

Online access to the deposit plan

To access the GOLD deposit plan, the client logs in using a username and a private password known only to the plan holder, and from their plan they will be able to access (depending on the type of deposit plan) the gold held in custody.

Costs relating to the deposit plan

PREMIUM PLUS charges fees for opening a deposit plan, storing the gold and issuing the certificate. Prices may vary. Please read the terms and conditions of the offer before opening a deposit plan and buying gold.

100% coverage of the deposit value

Unlike fiat currency accounts (euro, dollar, pound, etc.), where the maximum coverage is €100,000, the gold deposit plan is 100% guaranteed for the full value of your deposit on an indefinite basis.

A defined advantage from the outset

{

The Premium Plus Service lets you turn part of your accumulated resources into a structure linked to physical gold, with a digital certificate, professional custody and terms defined from the outset.

It is designed for clients who want to add physical gold to their deposit with an agreed time horizon and a discount set by contract, without treating it as a speculative operation.

A solution for those who value ownership, documentation and a more structured way of preserving value over the medium term.

How your gold works

Buying and selling gold

Purchase

Gold purchases are made on specific dates in the month. The final purchase price and the number of grams acquired are communicated once the transaction is complete. The amount used may generate a small margin, which is recorded in the account as availability in euros.

Sale

From the purchase, it may take up to 10 working days for the order to be processed and the funds transferred to the registered bank account. Actual availability may vary depending on the procedures of the receiving banks, which may apply fees unrelated to the Metal Bank.

Encoding of the gold purchased

The gold acquired is assigned to the client's storage plan. On logging in online, you will be able to see the total number of grams and the corresponding UNIQUE code, which identifies actual ownership of the gold assigned.

Allocation of the gold

The gold is bought and distributed in 2 g bars. Each bar is registered and encoded with a UNIQUE serial number in order to assign ownership to the client in their respective storage plan.

Important notice · Disclaimer

The PREMIUM PLUS service is not a financial instrument and does not guarantee any return on the gold acquired. In addition, the gold is bought at the London reference price, to which custody costs and the costs of the Metal Bank's services are added, which determines the retail price. When opening a deposit plan with the Metal Bank and buying gold, please bear in mind that, like all commodities, gold is subject to volatility and may lose value against the purchase price. We recommend that you assess whether buying gold suits your risk profile. Despite being one of the most stable metals, it remains sensitive to market fluctuations, and you could sell your gold at a price lower than the purchase price.

We answer your questions

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about the PREMIUM PLUS deposit plan and buying gold with the Metal Bank.

Gold has always been a safe-haven asset and, given its scarcity, its value has risen considerably over the years. It is an asset belonging to the client and does not represent a liability of a financial institution or of the Metal Bank.
There are thousands of entities that sell gold. The best course is to buy gold from a qualified entity or from certified, authorised warehouses, preferably those that form part of the LBMA circuit.
LBMA is the only network that lets you convert your deposit into cash with the greatest of ease. What is more, if your deposit is held in a high-security LBMA vault, your gold is converted into cash extremely quickly, and the bars are considered "Good Delivery".
All professional operators apply their own price to the metal (acquisition costs) which, added to the fixing, becomes the retail price.
No. All banks, brokers, dealers and metal intermediaries apply a cost to the market price (fixing).
Gold is a stable asset whose value tends to rise over time. It should not be seen as a speculative asset, but as a long-term savings opportunity that generates a safe, stable source of protection. Time shows statistically that the value of gold rises steadily.
If you keep gold at home, you unfortunately lose all the benefits of the circular economy. Activating a gold deposit plan in an LBMA vault lets you manage your deposit like an ordinary current account, taking advantage of the services offered by the Metal Bank, such as a debit card linked to the deposit, management of your account limits in fiat currency, etc.
You can activate the DUO service. DUO lets you offer your gold as collateral and, at the same time, access the liquidity you need. Find out more about this service.
The FUTURE deposit plan lets you set an annual goal and buy small or large amounts of gold each month until you reach it. You can repeat this process every year, building your LBMA gold deposit in line with the funds available to you.
The deposit plans available in our system let you meet this need. The most popular is the RELAX service which, by locking in your deposit for 24 months, lets you schedule the progressive sale of your metal and receive euros on the first day of each month.
Metal banks transfer full ownership of the deposit to the ultimate beneficial owner who acquires it. This separates the company's assets from full ownership of the gold, which remains in the client's name even in the event of bankruptcy. This means that a gold deposit does not need to be covered by a guarantee fund, unlike traditional banks, which only insure deposits up to €100,000.
The value of the gold acquired fluctuates according to market prices, without the Metal Bank having any control over it. However, you have the option of requesting its buy-back at the same initial sale price through the Metal Bank's services. This protects you from possible fluctuations in the price of gold.
Compared with the other deposit plans, PREMIUM PLUS is the least expensive and, thanks to its commitment, benefits from a discount on the costs of opening, storing and delivering the precious metal, making it the most attractive service. Since costs may vary, you can contact a manager for the latest information.
1 day after the lock-up is lifted.
You cannot sell it to third parties. However, you can use the DUO service if you need liquidity.
Yes.
Gold is an asset that should be held over the long term. It should not be treated as a speculative asset. By keeping your PREMIUM PLUS deposit for 24 months, you will be able to activate it at a reduced cost, thereby achieving greater stability over the long term.
First, you will need to choose the service you wish to access. Next, you will need to decide which type of deposit to activate. If you want to activate a deposit at the lowest possible cost, you can select the PREMIUM PLUS deposit option during the registration process and follow the system's instructions.
You may be asked to make the payment to a bank account other than one in your country of residence. The Real Money is an international company operating in multiple jurisdictions. It therefore uses several bank accounts to centralise its clients' payment processes. The aim is to put in place procedures that let clients save on management and banking costs. As a result, you may need to make the payment to a bank account located outside your country of residence.
In order to open a PREMIUM PLUS deposit, the Metal Bank must comply with AML (anti-money laundering) regulations and identify the client by gathering all the information relating to their financial situation and determining the origin of their funds. This procedure is a requirement imposed by all Western governments in relation to savings, investments, etc.
No.
Once the registration process is complete, you will receive a code that will let you access your gold deposit plan and monitor the daily value of your gold in real time. It will also let you manage any additional purchase or sale orders for your plan.
If you sell gold, take out cover or decide to transfer it to another client, the system will ask you for a one-time code shown on your mobile phone. The transaction will be confirmed only if you enter the OTP code you receive in order to authorise your order in the system.
From the moment you place an order to sell your gold in our vaults, the sale period may range from 10 to 15 working days. The process consists of placing your order, and the system processes the sale instantly at the first reference price available. Once the sale has been initiated, we show the latest reference price available, which provides an indicative price for the transaction. Only after the requested sale has been completed will you be shown the final sale price, which consolidates the transaction. The amount you receive in the bank account you specify may vary depending on bank charges and the services requested during the transaction.
As required by law in order to protect clients, you will be asked to answer a number of questions about your employment, income, investment knowledge, knowledge of the gold market, etc. In compliance with the regulations, the Metal Bank will classify your answers and assess whether you meet the requirements for a deposit plan and whether your risk profile is suitable for the product selected.
The Metal Bank sells gold and provides custody services to all its clients. The custody service is insured and, at the Metal Bank's discretion, is managed by LBMA-certified providers, who administer the distribution of deposits in high-security vaults. Under no circumstances does the deposit carry any risk of theft or misappropriation of the gold held in custody.
Yes. Shipping and delivery to your official address are available at an additional cost for transport and shipping insurance. Please bear in mind that, since your gold has been assigned in 2 g increments, you may request the weight of your bar according to standardised LBMA measurements. This procedure requires a fee for melting and casting the bar, which the Metal Bank will inform you of in advance so that you can confirm your order.
At its discretion, the Metal Bank may consider buying back the gold you hold at home. In this case, please bear in mind that additional costs will apply for re-melting the metal to restore its purity, as well as the cost of reprocessing and casting it. In any event, the Metal Bank may decline to buy the gold bar you offer.
If the gold never leaves the Metal Bank's vault, it retains its LBMA purity certification and can be sold and converted quickly into your fiat currency, such as the euro, pound sterling, dollar, etc. Keeping your gold in custody at the Metal Bank gives you greater flexibility to manage the various services and to turn your deposit into cash if necessary.
The gold acquired is assigned to the client's deposit. In practice, each 2 g bar is assigned a UNIQUE code that is registered EXCLUSIVELY for the client who holds the specific storage plan. This prevents gold bought in one deposit from being shared with other clients.
